Tui Mamaki draws from a unique pool of vocal traditions, including Chant Basque (South of France), Khyal (India), Jazz Improvisation, and Bulgarian Folk Song / Polyphony, to take participants on a playful yet connected journey through breath, tone, harmony and rhythm. Traditional songs from around the world are a vessel for the work.  A passionate workshop facilitator since 2002, Tui  believes all human beings are born to sing!

THEMES TO CHOOSE FROM

• Breath, Sound and Play (discover your voice)
• Beginners World Songs (beautiful accessible 2-4 part harmonies)
• Bulgarian Polyphony (stimulating odd-meters, vocal ornamentation and close harmony)

SAMPLE DURATIONS

• Introductory / Short Workshop = 2h30
• 1 Day Open Level Workshop = 3-6hrs
• Weekend Masters Workshop = 2 days, add performance option
• Choir Visit = during choir groups usual rehearsal time (1-3hrs)
