In collaboration with the lush Ethno-Electronica outfit from Bulgaria, “Kottarashky & The Rain Dogs”, Tui Mamaki performs original incantations + some derivations of traditional song, within a layered trance aesthetic. Kottarashky’s hypnotic sample work (captures of field recordings from the Bulgarian countryside + old funk/blues riffs) meets driving grooves, brought to life by a team of skilled musicians, improvising in both traditional Bulgarian and contemporary jazz vocabularies.
